I hear alarms going off in my head

Yesterday the fire alarm became activated around 10:50am. at 12:10pm it went silent. at about 12:15 it became activated again. Just enough time for me to get inside and grab my lunch. It was still going at 2:00pm with only the occasionally 5 minutes of silence. At that time I was offered a ride home and left for the day. While this was going on UPD was working with the alarm company to resolve the issue. It turns out some of the work being done in the building caused it to go off.
